The problem
A thriving e-books business depends on a robust publisher ecosystem. Yet when the team recognised the need to invest in publisher-tools, the publisher side of Play Books was showing its age. The tool made it difficult for publishers to discover, understand and join the platform — which in turn slowed growth and publisher sign-ups. The entry experience lacked clarity, inspiration and ease.

The objective
Our aim: design a compelling landing page and publisher onboarding experience that would clearly communicate the value of partnering with Play Books, inspire confidence, and convert prospective publishers into active contributors. We set out to craft a refined, purpose-driven design system and messaging framework that product leadership and engineering could use as a rallying point for the publisher-tool overhaul.

The result
We delivered a visually striking, high-impact landing page and refreshed visual system that elevated the publisher experience. Clear messaging, elegant design and purposeful layout helped strengthen our recruitment pipeline of publishers and positioned Play Books as a premier publishing platform. Play Books now supports publishing in 75+ countries and offers indie authors/publishers royalty splits as high as 70 % in over 60 countries, signaling serious commitment to growth of the partner base. This refreshed entry point became the gateway for increased publisher engagement, simplified onboarding and reinforced the brand’s standing among publishers.
